Sharp is expanding the production of large LCD TVs

Japanese company Sharp plans to mass-produce affordable large-LCD TVs, which have become competitors of Mitsubishi projection televisions and projectors, a possible alternative to the home theater system.
Sharp plans to sell in the first quarter of 2012 only in North America and 1 million of its LCD HDTV with screen sizes 60 inches or more. In addition to 60-inch models, the company intends to manufacture LCD HDTV with screen sizes of 70 and even 80 inches. However, Sharp said today that he sees the need for such models, not only in America but also in other continents. By the end of this year and early next year will be increased shipments to Europe Sharp TVs with a screen 60 inches or more. The company hopes to increase demand during 2012.
